The Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum will feature their exhibit “Access + Ability” now through early September of this year. Located in New York, the exhibit’s purpose – to analyze the technologies, capabilities and expansion behind today’s most accessible products – rings true to the company’s mission, which, during 2017, pledged to further increase inclusiveness and awareness “of accessible design innovation.” Although the exhibit contains various components, particularly interesting ones include decorative prosthetic leg covers that make a fashion statement; jewelry equipped to navigate blind individuals; and tri-wheelchairs suitable for even the toughest terrain.
